FAMILY CAMP 2020
You may have heard the buzz about Family Camp!
Here are some important things you need to know.
We love all of the enthusiasm and excitement about the chance to come to camp. Due to the current circumstances, we will only be opening Camp Baco for Family Camp. Families with campers from both Baco & Che-Na-Wah are able to reserve a bunk for 1 of our 4 long weekends on Lake Balfour.
-We have 16 bunks available each weekend. 1 bunk per household.
-We will also have limited day passes available. If you want to stay locally, support some of the local businesses, and come to camp on Saturday, you should try to reserve a day pass.
Please understand that space is limited. We know so many families want to coordinate weekends with friends. We STRONGLY recommend booking what you can for your family. We know this will fill up quickly, and as much as we’d love to, we cannot accommodate everybody.

How will you handle reopening and preventing the spread of COVID-19?
We will be practicing safe social distancing during Family Camp.
-Each family/household will have their own bunk with private bathroom facilities.
-All meals will be served “to-go” style. You can picnic outside on the slopes, the upper, or even use your private picnic table next to your bunk.
-Families will decide what activities they want to do/when.
-Swim will be assigned to ensure our waterfront is operating at 50% capacity.
-Families can sign up each morning to use boats, which will be cleaned in between each use.
-Families can leave camp to enjoy the Adirondacks any time.
-Council ring benches will be spaced out appropriately.
-All activities will be outside, weather permitting.
-Masks will be provided to anyone without one, and used during times when social distancing is not possible.
-All equipment will be sanitized between use
-Only touchless water fountain will be available
-We ask families to bring as much personal equipment as possible (ie: tennis racket, fishing rod, baseball glove, etc.)
-Daily temperature checks
-Bunks will be cleaned AFTER families check out
When do I register?
An email will go out to camp families with a link to our registration website. You will be able to select a weekend, a specific bunk to reserve, and enter all family information in. This will reserve your spot. Any bunks that have already been reserved/sold out will be “greyed” out, and you will not be able to select it.
Can I share a bunk with extended family?
In order to comply with requirements for reopening, we will be enforcing 1 household per bunk. HOWEVER, the Funhouse at Baco will have a partition between bunks 4 & 5. This partition will not be completely closing off the 2 spaces (approx 3/4 of the way). It will provide privacy, and each family will still have their own bathroom facilities. However, you will be sharing an entrance door to the bunk, will be able to hear everything on the other side of the wall. The website will give you the option to book Bunk 4, Bunk 5, OR Bunks 4 AND 5. This would be perfect for extended family to share.
How do I pay?
You will receive a Paypal request after booking online.
Payment must be completed 3 weeks before check in, or we will have to cancel your reservation.
Do I have to complete more paperwork?
Yes – we will send out an agreement, and have forms for dietary restrictions, and more. You will receive the paperwork after you book your bunk.
What should I pack?
We will send a recommended packing list before your weekend.
Can you do more weekends?
We wish. Maybe next year after camp!
